Last weekend my parents, their boss, and I took a whirlwind four-day trip to the southern & northern ends of Thailand to see family friends and colleagues.
Down south we visited the Phang Nga province, an area that was totally devastated by the tsunami of December, 2004. This is a famous patrol boat that was washed up about a mile inland.
Each leg of the trip was made via van/taxi or a flight on Nok [“Bird”] Air. Here you can see the bird plane painted with a beak.
We were only up north in the Udon Thani province, for about 26 hours but still had time to do some sightseeing, including at a 700+ year-old Khmer temple (think mini-Angkor Wat).
Since I’m a simple man, obviously a trip highlight was simply getting to hang out with Mike the cat.
This last photo credit goes to my father, by the way. The rest of my photos are up on teh Flickrland.
